Cannon and Leah's birthday are 2 days apart so this year we decided to take the kids miniature golfing in West Valley. It was fun and we'd never done it before as a family. The funny thing is we first went out to lunch, went golfing, window shopped at Toys R us (while I stealthily bought a toy for Leah, Cannon just wanted money so he could buy an I-Pod Touch). Then we went to a new part of the mall that has this really fun frozen yogurt shop that the kids could pick out their toppings, flavors, etc. and walked outside to a fountain area. That became their most talked about experience of the day! They loved playing in the fountain even though it wasn't a very hot day. I love how when you plan something out of the ordinary and it turns into something even better than you imagined! I am so grateful for all my beautiful children and especially Cannon as he grows into a man. He is strong and helpful and puts up with Leah with such patience even when she can be kinda demanding and rude to him (we are working on that-she leaves it all for Cannon!). I'm happy for Cannon learning how to deal with grown-up stuff like being in charge of his own grades at school and being responsible about it. I'm in awe sometimes of his drive. And for Leah, I love being with her, I love her spunk and her saying things like it is. She is happy all the time esp. first thing in the morning which I admire day in and day out! She loves people and engaging kids around her and including everyone. She has lots of love to share!
