Goblin Valley and Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon

We started the trip driving South thinking we would meet Em/Mom and
Stacy at Goblin Valley. Sadly Stacy wasn't able to make it and we
missed her and the cousins missed them! It was a rainy day so we ate
lunch in our cars (oh the memories, huh kids, sandwiches in the car
while it rains outside). Anyway, we went down into the valley and
walked around trying to keep up with Cannon and Joseph. This valley
is unbelievable, you're driving on this road--forever-- and there's
really nothing to see. Just sagebrush. No redrock. Then as you come
into the park and look over this valley, it truly is like looking a
little goblins. Thousands of them! And they are so fun to climb
around and jump off of. All the kids were happy and excited so it was
pretty fun. We got pretty muddy though and as we were coming back to
the cars it got kinda slippery! But since we really wanted to enjoy
the slot canyon, we decided to call it a day and go to the hotel in
Price a bit early. This was a popular vote with the women! The hotel
had a pool and a hot tub so we had a great time swimming with the
cousins. Jed and I took the kids down to the Green River next to the
hotel and they skipped rocks until it was too dark and too cold. Dad
made it that night which we were so happy to have him with us! The
next morning we had a lovely hot breakfast (love Holiday Inn Express
by the way) and drove close to Goblin Valley where there is this
amazing slot canyon called Little Wild Horse. It's not a long hike
but the majority of it is through these beautiful walls so close
together. And at every turn there is a chance to climb which is so
fun for all the kids and the kid in all of us! Even Jeffrey and Leah
climbed most of the way and Corbin was handed around at the steeper
parts and Emily was amazing to keep going and with a such an awesome
attitude. I'm sure she missed Joey but hopefully with Jed and Dad it
wasn't too long of a hike. Good job sis! After we had lunch at the
trailhead, we went back to Goblin Valley for more exploring.
